I return, and I bring pictures!

Okay so still no art, boo-hoo, but I have returned from Tanzania and I've managed to filter my 633 photographs so that I now have an online album of 201 pictures! (Please, no applause necessary.)

Click here to see the pictures!

I've experienced a lot - seen many animals in the safari parks, went to a real Maasai village on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, camped near a big lake and a volcano one night, then two nights in the Serengeti... with lions skulking about our tents at night, yaaaay. <3

Now it wasn't all hot (the crater was cold!) but if they dare call that winter... I don't know. Dutch summers often don't even get that warm.

I managed to get some sort of tan even with sunblock 30 on me. Hee hee. :D I haven't tanned well in years. So uh, yeah. That's the heat and the burning, I guess.

Please enjoy the dik dik, lions and leopard. They are my most precious pictures. <3 I wish I could've taken a dik dik home.

I'll be going on vacation tomorrow morning really early, and will be back August 6th. Really early.

I'm off to Tanzania/Zanzibar for two weeks, so more awayness for me. I'm sooo active here lately.

Don't post too much, because I'll have to look through it all upon my return. :P

See you all in two weeks.

And it's been nearly a month since my last post, so I might as well do it.

Tagged by ~dougurasu. Fuck if I know why. :)

1. Post these rules.
2. People tagged must post 8 things each about themselves in their journals.
3. Tag eight people and post their icons on the same journal.
4. No tag-backs.

1. I spent all day sanding the windowsills on our house, then painted part of them. We're not going to be done with this for a LONG time...
2. I should get rid of my little pudge belly so that I won't have to hold it in anymore. :)
3. Horse riding again tomorrow, YAY. I'm still looking forward to it loads despite having started it back up in october already.
4. I can save 1200 euros, 2 hours worth of travel each day, and lose the risk of missing classes or exams by moving to my school's new building in my own city, but am doubting because I made an awesome friend at the other city's building. :(
5. Despite being 22 years old, I watch the kiddy cartoon channel while on the computer, because it gives me some nice background noise.
6. I really always want to look pretty, but I'm doing it purely for myself. I don't actually care what others think, so I don't consider myself superficial at all.
7. I really really really love animals, but I don't coddle them.
8. I drive around uselessly in cars a lot to help my dad out. (Picking them up, picking HIM up, being the designated driver, etc.)

I'm going to ignore rule 3 and thus skip the need for rule 4. What do you mean obey the system? :O

Mm, I guess I passed...

Well technically the REAL graduation is next year - after I beat maths and finish biology - but I'm well on my way, I guess.

At least I passed and here I may sound very spoiled but all my averages went down by a whole point. Now the science department has only passing grades instead of "hey, these are pretty nice!" ones. And I need NICE ones to stand a bigger chance at entering uni next year. So I guess I'm happy that I'm not one of those people that didn't pass, but I'm a little grumpy that the HORRID way in which our finals were handled this year (if you're Dutch and near anyone that's done their exams, you'll know what I mean) has ruined my pretty damn nice averages.

I mean, the day I get lower than a 7 for Dutch? I never thought it would happen. =/ I usually get 9s without trying.

Er, anyway. At least I passed, and I might redo one if I stand a chance at upping the average after all. Grrrr. Almost summer.

Elitist bastard rant now over.

At least I passed the finals.

Oh my god, things are going so well for me. I'm afraid that if I enjoy it, I will jinx it and things will go bad again. For the past seven years my life's been chaotic and off-trackish, I'm just so happy it's finally falling back together again. And not without effort, so I actually worked hard for it too, and I still am.

It's no longer mediocre, or crap (well, except that fucking high school, heh). It's going well.

My grades are going up, and everyone is proud of me for that.
I've been great at horse riding for the past three or so weeks, and my instructor is pleased.
I get to come by the vet's practice plenty of times, and am enjoying my time and what little work I have to do there. It's great to see and learn all these things there and I hope it will give me a head start when I start university.

Today we had a special vaccination day for bunnies - two diseases that kill them almost instantly, very horrid stuff, so vaccinating them is quite handy. It was half price and so we probably helped about a hundred bunnies in about four hours... Hard work but definitely fun.
I also got my own two bunnies vaccinated for free, how about that. :D They actually sort of behaved and were found to be very healthy (though a little spoiled, oops) which I always find nice to hear.

Then again, who wouldn't want to hear that they're taking excellent care of their pets? ;)

Yes yes. All is well. To be quite honest with you, I kind of think I deserve it after seven years of not accomplishing anything. And I'm serious with you there; I didn't succeed at much. At all.

It's good to be successful again, and despite my slight fear of jinxing it, I think I'm going to go ahead and enjoy it anyway. >D

PS. HAHAHAHA oops, I just noticed my age on this page still says 21. I've been 22 since November...
